[Our son] was shrieking, banging, pounding like he had something that he needed to tell us and there was no way he could tell us . . . With Dr. Solomon’s training program we found we were doing the same things but in a different way, in a way to engage him. The results for us were really wonderful.
–Lisa Gretchko
We listened to the whole seminar . . . and we thought, Okay, this is something we can do. It felt like the most natural thing for us to do.
—Mick Katschor
Bringing the child out into the world and making them enjoy the world around them and see that you don’t have to hide and you can enjoy the world . . . it’s the first and most important thing to do for a child with autism.

The DVD is an effective resource in teaching parents the basic concepts, functional developmental levels, and techniques of Floortime and The P.L.A.Y. Project. Parents have the ability to review the materials at their own pace and go back as much as they want for clarification. The video clips allow parents to witness other families traveling the same journey they are about to embark on. Parents have a better understanding of The P.L.A.Y. Project if they view the DVD before their home consultant visits, which is why it is now a requirement for all new families in our program.

My consistent feedback from the families I have worked with is that the P.L.A.Y. Project DVD has been helpful. The parents appreciate watching the videos of parents and their children interacting together. They also appreciate that the information is comprehensive, easy to understand and user friendly.

The P.L.A.Y. Project DVD is a powerful tool for professionals and parents. The information is given in a concise, easy to follow format. I have used it as an introduction to the DIR model and have used it as a review for staff and parents. The message of why, when and how to provide a DIR program is at your fingertips with the use of this DVD.
