Agency Training: Certification and Licensing

Certification of Trained Professionals

Throughout your supervision with The P.L.A.Y. Project (20 tape reviews over a 12-18 month time period), we evaluate your skill in delivering The P.L.A.Y. Project Home Consulting model. We expect you to be effective in managing a caseload, supporting families and helping children move up the functional development ladder. Assuming you have gained these skills, we will certify your successful completion of The P.L.A.Y. Project training. We also highly recommend that you attend the ICDL Summer Training Institute.

Licensing of Agencies

In parallel with certification of the individual Home Consultant, we will also discuss licensing of the agency. The purposes of the license are:

Not all professionals trained by The P.L.A.Y. Project deliver services under the model; for example, a special education teacher might want practical training in DIR/Floortime methods in order to better relate to students with autism. In this case, The P.L.A.Y. Project name and model would be unnecessary. Similarly, an agency may want its speech and language therapist or occupational therapist to use The P.L.A.Y. Project/Floortime techniques, but is not interested in providing home visits and/or parent training. Such agencies may choose not to be licensed.

Please contact our office to discuss details of licensing arrangements if you want to launch The P.L.A.Y. Project in your community.
