Certified Teaching PLAY Consultant

OVERVIEW:
At the highest level of training, the professional is prepared to coach and educate other professionals and parents in the 7 Circles of PLAY.  Participants complete an in-depth supervision process in our evidence-based program, learning how to guide others to increase engagement, communication, and academic readiness for children with ASD in the preschool or kindergarten setting.

Dual Certification in Teaching PLAY and PLAY Autism Intervention (for home or clinic setting) available.

TOPICS:
7 Circles of Teaching PLAY, including:
– PLAY Principles and Methods
– PLAY Plan with child profile, techniques, and activities
– Coaching, modeling, and feedback
– Written reports
Social- Emotional IEP Goals
Parent/Professional Partnership
Classroom Evaluation
In-depth Case Studies
Implementation Strategies

PARTICIPANTS WILL:
– Create Child Profile and PLAY Plan based on several case studies
– Complete a PLAY School Environment Assessment (PLAY SEA) based in the classroom
– Receive supervision through online mentorship (see requirements)

REQUIREMENTS:
Masters level degree
To earn Certification, participants will complete:
– PLAY Project Certification course
– 20 Supervision Tasks (5 online exams / 15 case study reports)

Teaching-PLAY-Add-On

Teaching PLAY “Add On” Certification

OVERVIEW:

Exclusively for Certified PLAY Project Consultants
Currently Certified PLAY Project Consultants can add Teaching PLAY Certification by through a 3-step process:

1.) Participation in the online Teaching PLAY Course (see syllabus for more details)
2.) Implementation in the classroom setting
3.) Final Assessment submission: one longitudinal case study for review (read more here)

REQUIREMENTS:
Current PLAY Project Consultant

COST: $900.00 ($800 if opting out of Mentorship)

Certified Teaching PLAY Professional Training

OVERVIEW:
This training provides direct guidance and supervision for school personnel who want to implement Teaching PLAY in their classrooms. Certified Teaching PLAY Professionals are trained  to help children with ASD increase engagement, communication, and academic readiness in the preschool or kindergarten setting. Hands-on activities allow participants to practice profiling  an individual child, creating a PLAY Plan, and evaluating the classroom environment.

7 Circles of Teaching PLAY, including:
– PLAY Principles and Methods
– PLAY Plan with child profile, techniques, and activities
Social Emotional IEP Goals
Case Studies
Parent/Professional Partnership
Classroom Evaluation

PARTICIPANTS WILL:
– Create a Child Profile and PLAY Plan based on their own students
– Complete a PLAY School Environment Assessment (PLAY SEA) based on their own classroom
– Receive mentorship through online supervision OR consultation with a Teaching PLAY Consultant

REQUIREMENTS:
Associate level degree
To earn certification, participants will submit for evaluation:
– 4 PLAY Plans with video footage, based on 1-2 students
– Pre/post evaluation of the classroom environment using the PLAY SEA evaluation tool
